1. Introduction
Instly Scout is a product of Instly Technologies ("Instly Scout", "we", "us"). We provide an AI-visibility auditing service at instlyscout.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, Chrome extension, and scanning tools, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the service you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information we collect
- Account information - such as your name, email address, and organisation when you sign up or request a report.
- Website URLs and page content you submit - the addresses you ask us to scan, plus browser-visible page content such as titles, metadata, headings, visible text, links, and structured data used to generate your report.
- Usage data - how you interact with the site, including pages viewed, features used, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
- Billing information - processed securely by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect to run and improve the service, including to generate your AI-visibility reports, maintain and secure your account, provide support, communicate service updates, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Scanned website data
When you run a scan, Scout analyses the current website and may read browser-visible page content from the pages being assessed. We use this content to produce your report and improve the service in aggregate. We do not attempt to access password-protected areas, and we ask that you only scan sites you own or are authorised to audit.
5. Emails we send you
If you give us your email address - in the extension, on our website, or at checkout - we use it to send you the things you asked for, and a limited amount of related follow-up:
- Your scan and report. The results you requested, and for paid audits the report itself and its access links. These are service messages and are sent to every customer.
- One follow-up about that scan. Roughly a day after your free scan we may send a single message about the issues we found and how we can help fix them. You receive at most one per email address.
We do not sell or rent your email address, we do not add you to a general newsletter, and we do not send you unrelated marketing.
Unsubscribing. Every follow-up email contains a one-click unsubscribe link. Using it stops all follow-up and marketing email to that address permanently, while still allowing delivery of reports you have paid for. You can also email [email protected] and we will remove you.
6. Legal bases for processing
Where applicable law requires it, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases: performance of a contract, your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the service, and compliance with legal obligations.
7. Sharing & processors
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the service, including hosting, customer notifications, analytics, payment processing, and AI model providers used to generate reports, under appropriate confidentiality and data-processing terms, or where required by law.
8. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, then delete or anonymise it within a reasonable period unless a longer retention is required by law.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
10. Security
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep protections current.
